From June 24 to 25, Wu Shunze, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, went deep into the disaster-stricken areas of Qingyuan and Longquan to inspect the disaster situation, visit and comfort the affected people and enterprises, and guide post-disaster reconstruction work on-site. He stressed that all localities and departments must resolutely implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on flood control and disaster relief, strictly follow the deployment requirements of the provincial party committee, provincial government and municipal party committee, keep the safety and well-being of the affected people in mind, take effective measures, fully grasp the work of eliminating risks and ensuring safety and post-disaster reconstruction, and strive to minimize disaster losses.

Affected by the third round of heavy rainfall this year, especially the "6·18" torrential rain, sudden disasters such as mountain floods, debris flows, landslides and urban waterlogging occurred in some areas of the city, especially in Qingyuan and Longquan. After the disaster, Wu Shunze immediately went to Yezhuwo Natural Village and Dongban Village in Qingyuan County to inspect the disaster situation of villages and roads and mountain risks on-site, learn in detail about the resettlement of villagers, post-disaster reconstruction and road emergency rescue and disposal, and inquire about the difficulties faced by villagers in production and life door by door. He pointed out that although disasters are ruthless, the government must be more proactive. All localities and departments must properly do a good job in resettlement, comfort and assistance for affected villagers, accelerate post-disaster reconstruction, and at the same time strictly prevent secondary disasters. In Caiduan Village, Qingyuan County and Shiwu Village, Longquan City, Wu Shunze inspected the damaged edible fungus, eel breeding bases and farmland greenhouses due to the disaster, carefully inquired about the disaster situation of farmers, encouraged the affected people to cheer up, overcome difficulties and resume production as soon as possible, and required local governments and relevant departments to provide front-line services, fight disasters on the front line, timely and effectively implement disaster relief policies such as insurance, finance and agriculture accurately, and fully help affected households tide over difficulties.

Zhejiang Longxin Chemical Co., Ltd. is a technology-based enterprise producing unsaturated polyester resins, which suffered severe damage in this disaster. In particular, the factory was extensively flooded, most of the walls and dormitories in the factory collapsed, products, workshops and core CNC equipment were soaked, and the total disaster loss exceeded 13 million yuan. Wu Shunze learned in detail about the difficulties existing in the resumption of production of the enterprise from the person in charge of the enterprise and the technical personnel for emergency repair, urged government departments and enterprise service personnel to implement assistance and relief measures one by one, and encouraged the enterprise and the government to overcome difficulties together and resume normal production order as soon as possible.

Wu Shunze pointed out that in the face of this sudden disaster, all localities and departments responded quickly and took decisive measures, effectively protecting the life and property safety of the people. At present, the work focus should be shifted to post-disaster reconstruction as soon as possible, with joint efforts of cities and counties, integrated forces, and dedicated efforts to fight disasters, protect people's livelihood and stabilize production. We should systematically promote risk elimination and safety assurance in summary and review, do a good job in various risk prevention measures with high standards and high quality, further increase investment in flood control and disaster prevention infrastructure, and fully ensure the safety of people's lives and property. We should accelerate the construction and improvement of an emergency command and coordination mechanism integrating normal and emergency responses, make full use of digital and integrated means to strengthen emergency response, strengthen the construction of emergency teams, comprehensively improve the level of technical and human defense, and ensure that we can rush to the front, hold on and win in the face of sudden disasters. We should continue to promote the "Large-scale Relocation and Agglomeration for Prosperity and Stable Living" project to keep people away from danger completely.
